Potential Applicants,

Thanks for your interest in Psychosis. You'll find our application form below. Please take your time and fill it out completely as it represents your first impression to many (if not all) of us.  You do not need to be a member of the Psychosis website to apply.

About Psychosis:

We are a small Horde guild on the Arygos (US) server focused on having fun and PvE end-game raiding (in that order). We aim to have 35-40 active raiders, which allows people to keep up with real-life events while still maintaining a group of core raiders who are familiar with the instances and one another. Our guild membership covers a wide age range, but we try to maintain an appropriate level of maturity in guild. We do ask that guild members be respectful of others and keep in mind that just because you live in a fraternity house that is always a party, other members may live at home with young children. Please remember to keep your conversations appropriate. Our current focus is on downing Lady Vashj and making our way into Mount Hyjal and Black Temple.

Please note that while many of our members are on nearly every night, we only formally raid 3 nights a week (usually Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with an optional Sunday) from 7:30pm to 11:00pm Server Time (Eastern Standard time). On off nights you can find members in the Arena, in Battlegrounds, Heroics or leveling alts. We encourage members to enjoy their time in game and will not force people to participate in events they do not want to.

If you have questions about this application or Psychosis in general, please feel free to get in touch with any Psychosis member. If they can't answer your question, they'll be able to point you to someone who can.

Applicant Requirements:

Please note that all our Applicants must:

- Be Level 70 (there are rare exceptions to this – if you think this is you please talk to an officer.)
- Use Ventrilo (Having a working microphone is also important but not required).
- Have a raid frame of some sort (oRA2, CTRaid, XPerl) installed along with the Omen Threat Meter (or KTM) and an up-to-date Boss Mod (Deadly Boss Mods/Bigwigs)
- Raid experience is not required, but at this point in our progression it is counterproductive for all parties to have to teach new members how to raid. Raiding is a different experience than running 5-mans or PVP.
- Have most if not all of your heroic keys.
- Be willing to work hard during raids, bringing full consumables and concentration.
- Understand that while we are serious about raiding while raiding, we are a casual close knit guild who only raids (formally at least) three nights a week.
- Know that hard work and preparation equals success.
- Have a schedule compatible with our raid nights. (Unexpected real life commitments aside).
- Have fun. This is a game.

Applying to Psychosis:

Before applying, all Applicants should read the Psychosis Frequently Asked Questions forum post. It answers many of the questions that we're commonly asked.

Applicants should expect that the vast majority of Psychosis Members will be researching them. 20-30 people will read your application top to bottom, often more than once. We'll talk to your friends, your old guilds (including ones not on Arygos) and anyone else we think would know you in an effort to figure out if you'd be a good fit for us. We don't expect (nor require) everyone to be geared head to toe in the same level gear that we wear, but the effort that you've put into polishing the gear you do have will tell us a lot about how you approach the game. We put a lot of time and focus into our recruitment and it can occasionally surprise people who aren't used to it, so we want to be very up-front about what Applicants should expect.

We have a three-step application process.

Step 1:
Once you finish and submit your application, it will be moved to an internal members-only forum where the entire guild can read and comment on it. That initial feedback will determine whether you'll move on to Step 2 of our Application Process. It's also not unusual for at least one person from your class to get into contact you briefly to get a feel for you and your knowledge of the class. That person will add their comments to your application.

Step 2:
Applicants with strong applications will be asked to run at least one Heroic Instance with a group of our members. This gives us a good feeling for how you interact with groups of people as well as your skill level. The Psychosis members that group with you for this Heroic will add their comments to your application for others to see. If you know some members of Psychosis, they will not be members of the group who runs the Heroic Instance with you as we'd like to get as many of our members as possible to get to know you.

Step 3:
The officers will evaluate everything and after at least one or two of us talk to you in game we will decide on whether you should be admitted. At this point you will be admitted to the guild and placed as a Recruit. The Recruit phase generally lasts less than one month and allows everyone who has not been able to group or talk with you personally to get a chance to get to know you. Moving past recruit is not a difficult tedious process – if you follow through on everything outlined above it should be a minimal time frame.

Potential Transfer Applicants:

We know that changing servers to join a guild that you might barely know is a major leap of faith, so we wanted to discuss our policy regarding Transfer Applicants. We do require all Transfer Applicants to go through the same process that Arygos Applicants follow, albeit a little differently. We recommend that if you're interested in joining Psychosis, apply before transferring to Arygos so we can review your application and let you know if we think there could be a good fit for you with us. If we feel like this might be the case and you do transfer, we will guarantee you an opportunity to run at least one Heroic Instance with our members prior to admittance.

Please note that this is the only difference in our application process for Transfer Applicants and we will only guarantee Heroic Instance runs to those we invite to transfer. If you decide to transfer without us formally inviting you to run a Heroic Instance with us as part of the application process, you do so at your own risk.

If applications are currently turned off or if the software states we are not recruiting your level / class, you can always copy / paste an application into the forum and we will review it as any other application.  We always welcome people who share our goals and would benefit the guild as a whole regardless of whether or not we are actively searching for your class.

Psychosis is not currently accepting membership applications.
